Composition, Layer and Deck Control

Learn how to properly manage your show structure in Resolume using ShowTime Player and configure OSC routing.

Step 01

Control and Clips

Go to SHOWTIMEPLAYER and open the Resolume tab. Here you will find everything you need to trigger your content.

  • The Tabs/Commands tab — contains global Resolume commands: page (deck) switching, blackouts, layer control, and much more.
  • The Clip/Trigger tab — displays your media clip library. You can easily find the desired layer and preview it by clicking on the circle next to it.
  • Add a clip to the timeline by clicking the + button, and it will be triggered exactly at the designated time of your track.

Step 02

OSC Routing

SHOWTIMEPLAYER allows you to precisely direct commands to recipients, which is critical in complex network installations.

  • Specific device (Unicast): Select the specific device/program you added from the dropdown menu. The command will be delivered strictly to it, which eliminates conflicts if you have multiple media servers running on the network.
  • Global broadcasting (Broadcast): If you select the general OSC mode, data will be broadcast to all devices on the local network that are listening on the specified port. This allows you to control an entire fleet of servers with a single command.
